Who wouldn’t want to own this strange pairing of greats from the past—former SNL cast members and Matchbox vehicles? There’s John Belushi with the Little Chocolate Donuts truck, Bill Murray with the Swill Mineral Water truck, Gilda Radner and the Weekend Update van, and Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri with the Spartans Cheer Squad bus.
Nothing against Will and Cheri over there, but why did Matchbox jump ahead so many years for this fourth member of the group? Couldn’t there have been a Dan Ackroyd and the Wild and Crazy Guys van, or a Chevy Chase and the Landshark truck, or a Jane Curtin and the Coneheads car? Apparently no, it was better to go with this foursome. And I trust them implicitly; the marketing gurus at Matchbox know their game pretty well by now. They even have a new trick or two up their sleeve. The pink packaging, for instance, allows us to see the softer side of Matchbox.
But, guys, rest assured: it’s really still all about you.
